AFBA honours Dele Oye with 2026 Merit Medal
The African Bar Association (AFBA) has honoured the Chairman of the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics (AERE), Hon. Dele Oye, with its 2026 Medal of Merit, in recognition of his contributions to legal practice, economic advocacy, institutional governance and the growth of Nigeria’s private sector.
The award was presented at the AFBA 2026 Annual Conference in Cape Verde, where legal professionals and stakeholders from across Africa and the diaspora gathered to discuss key legal, economic and governance issues affecting the continent.
AFBA highlighted Oye’s more than 35 years of professional experience and his contributions across corporate governance, international trade facilitation, policy reform, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
His recognition further reflects a longstanding commitment to strengthening institutions, advancing ethical leadership and promoting sustainable economic and private-sector development across Africa.
