Oye Leads Investment Push At Türkiye–Nigeria Business Summit In Ankara.

Chairperson of the Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council, Hon. Dele Kelvin Oye, is leading efforts to attract Turkish investment into Nigeria at the Türkiye–Nigeria Business Meeting holding in Ankara as part of activities marking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to the Republic of Türkiye.

The high-level business forum, scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hotel, Ankara, is expected to bring together senior government officials, investors and business leaders from both countries to explore opportunities for expanded trade and investment cooperation.

President Tinubu’s visit to Türkiye is aimed at strengthening the longstanding cordial relations between both nations and deepening collaboration in key areas including security, education, innovation, aviation, social development, trade and investment.

The business meeting is being organised by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) in collaboration with the Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council, as part of broader efforts to enhance economic ties and facilitate private-sector partnerships between Nigeria and Türkiye.

Hon. Oye, who will deliver opening remarks at the event alongside Mr. Osman Aksoy, a DEİK Board Member and Chairperson of the DEİK/Türkiye–Nigeria Business Council, is expected to spotlight Nigeria’s vast investment potential and the critical role of the private sector in driving bilateral economic growth.

A key highlight of the programme will be a country presentation by the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Mrs. Aisha Rimi, who will outline Nigeria’s investment climate, ongoing economic reforms and priority sectors open to foreign investors.

Participating Turkish and Nigerian companies will also be formally introduced, with each firm making brief presentations on their business interests and areas of potential collaboration.

Official addresses are expected from Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Trade, Mr. Mustafa Tuzcu, and Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh.

The Türkiye–Nigeria Business Meeting is designed to complement President Tinubu’s diplomatic engagements, which include strategic political discussions on shared interests in finance, communication, trade and investment.

President Tinubu’s entourage for the bilateral talks includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd); Chairman, House Committee on Defence, Hon. Jimi Benson; Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim; Minister of Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, among others.

The summit comes against the backdrop of sustained diplomatic engagement between both countries, recalling that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid an official visit to Nigeria in October 2021.

Hon. Oye is a former national president of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and a past Chairman of the Organized Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), with extensive experience in trade promotion and private-sector development.
